My child will not attend school. What can I do?

Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) describes children experiencing severe difficulty in attending school due to emotional factors such as anxiety. It results from overwhelming distress rather than disobedience. Support involves schools, families and professionals working together to identify 'push and pull' factors. We can provide personalised learning opportunities for your child within a low demand environment and also support you in advocating for your child's needs.

Push and pull factors
Through a non-judgmental, child friendly approach we can explore push and pull factors which may be contributing to EBSA in order to reach greater understanding and guide support.

Personalised learning
Through individualised approaches and lessons we will work to achieve small steps of progress in order to build a love of learning and sense of achievement.

Advocating for your child
Through supporting your child to feel heard and understood we aim to promote feelings of safety in order to reduce anxiety around learning.
